The training plans that I utilize vary depending on the students age, ability, interest level and motivation. My many years of experience in training children, junior and teen-age players have helped me to develop the following methods of learning:
Children from ages 5 - 8 years old: Learn with beginner equipment. The youngest of my students play with small light rackets, hit soft/slow bouncing balls on a smaller scaled down tennis court. By using such equipment the children learn faster and enjoy their time on the tennis court.
Juniors from ages 9- 12: Once having learned the correct technique this age group wants to compete. For this age group an hour of tennis without competition is boring. They want action! So it is my job to organize group sessions with learning and various games of competition.
Teen players: Teen players usually fall into two categories:
1.Tournament players.
2. Hobby players.
The tournament players have been
playing tennis regularly since an early age and need high end training to be the best that they possibly can be. The hobby player has not had so
many years of experience as the tournament player therefore they want to have only fun while they learn tennis. I am ready to competently train
these two different priorities.
